The crappies all over their habitat range are called a lot of different names such as calico bass, speckled perch, speckled bass, white perch, pole crappies, strawberry bass, and paper mouth. When speckled perch move into the pre summer period which happens when the water temperature goes into the 70 degree range. The pre-summer period is when the paper mouth move into their regular feeding patterns and they are much more predicable.

The pre-summer period is when the food chain is most plentiful and the paper mouth are in full feeding mode. You can catch crappie on just about any crappie bait using a variety of different crappie fishing rigs. strawberry bass will be found in multiple locations such as weed beds, flats, breaks, and some will always be suspended. They may be concentrated in just one of these areas, but many times during the pre-summer period you will find calico bass at all of these locations at the same time.

You will be able to catch crappie with live bait or artificial crappie jigs. Also a combination of crappie jig heads tipped with crappie live bait such as crappie minnows, flat head minnows, shiners, and small crayfish will work well. Actually just about any crappie bait will work well during the pre-summer period.

In deep southern lakes and reservoirs  strawberry bass will appear on primary and secondary points on the main lake where there is a break or drop off to deeper water. Deep timbered channel edges will also hold speckled perch during the pre-summer period.

In northern lakes crappie will move to area’s to establish themselves in the habitat they intend to stay with throughout the summer. As long as their natural food source remain the same the papermoth will remain in these areas. That is why in northern lakes the paper mouth will be very predicable during this period and crappie baits such as any live bait like crappie minnows, shiners, fathead minnows, small crayfish, and even fresh mussel meat will work to catch crappie during the pre-summer and summer periods.

Well that concludes my article about Speckled Perch. Have a great day!

Having played free online poker for a while now, I have come to realise that there are typically two types of Texas Holdem players: those who play the cards and others who play the player. How does one decide what is the best style of play? In my experience, it really comes down to both, playing the player and the cards.

I spent many years trying to perfect my game and working out the percentages of the hands and outs, etc. I would say that it benefited me, but not as greatly as I would have liked. What I did not factor in, was the style of play by others. Playing the player is a strategy that should not be overlooked.

Most poker players tend to play any hand given to them, sometimes they can win with a rubbish hand by bluffing and other times they can get a decent hand and win with that. At the end of the day, pretty much any set of cards can win a hand.

So, how do you beat other players? Well, the answer is simple… watch your opponent before you take them on at a table. Spend time watching their style, when they bet, how much, do they reraise often. This can be quite time consuming but can be very educational and helpful when you are ready to sit and play against them.

So, is this going to make you win? Not all of the time, no. You are still playing poker and its all about luck and skill at the end of the day. No matter how great your poker skills are, you are not always going to win. However, by taking on this strategy of watching your opponents before you play them, you are much more likely to win more hands than you otherwise would have. You may not win every hand or every time, but you will win more than just playing your cards.

Good luck with these tips and I hope to see you at the free online poker tables soon!

Crappie Fishing

Bait fishing: article 84
crappies all over their habitat range are called a lot of different names such as calico bass, speckled perch, speckled bass, white perch, pole crappie, strawberry bass, and papermouths. The name paper mouth is very fitting for the crappie. This nick name is very fitting of a crappie that is caught while bait fishing because there mouths are paper thin and the hook can pull out very easy so you need to be very careful to not over do it when you set the hook. This fact alone makes it very difficult to land a large speckled perch.

Both White and black crappie strawberry bass look very similar but there are a few different identification marks. Both white crappie and black crappie have dark – olive or golden or brownish backs. The white strawberry bass look much lighter then the black pole crappie when caught while bait fishing. During the spawn it is hard to tell male white and black calico bass apart because the male whit crappie will darken like the black crappie during the spawning period.

One easy way to tell the white pole crappie from the black crappie is by counting the number of spines located at the dorsal fin. White  speckled perch will have 5 to 7 spines, while  the black crappie will have 7 to 8 spines. The white papermouth will have a have a shorter distance between the dorsal fin first spine to a point between the eyes, then the black strawberry bass. The white crappie takes a more “s” or
hump shape then the black white perch where the back rises from the head. The black calico bass has a more round shape.

Both white speckled bass and black white perch, are built for speed and maneuverability. They move in cover very easily because of their thin bodies. In cover you catch crappies while bait fishing fairly easy if you use the right crappie baits. The white speckled bass and the black speckled bass are not the only speices of crappie. For years white and black speckled bass have been cross breeding to make a very stable hybrid pole crappie population. Also many hybrids have been raised in captivity for stocking. They have
been stocked in new habitat locations throughout the Untied States to create new speckled perch habitat areas.

I want to thank you for reading my article about Strawberry Bass. Have a great day and the the best of luck to you on your next fishing trip

crappies all over their habitat range are called a lot of different names such as calico bass, speckled perch, speckled bass, white perch, pole crappies, strawberry bass, and paper mouth. To determine the age of a speckled bass You catch while you are bait fishing is not an exact science but there is a way to calculate your strawberry bass caught with a variety of different crappie baits. Age and growth rates for crappie caught while bait fishing can be attributed too two factors which are the environment and genetics.

In our article today we are going to discuss the method of determining the age of strawberry bass. The next time you catch a crappie while bait fishing take a look at it’s scales. You can determine the age of any crappie you catch if you learn to read it’s scales. The theory behind reading scales to determine age is based upon assuming that the scales grow proportionately to a fishes length, and this relationship nearly always holds true.

During the slow or no growth periods such as in the cold water winter months the rings or what is called the circuli will be narrowly spaced. Fast growth periods will generate a widely spaced circuli. Year marks called annuli show clearly if you use a magnifying glass for inspection. To take a measurement, you want to measure from the center of the scale called the focus which is horizontally located at the bottom of the scale. The focus point looks like a circle and is your starting point for your measurement. You measure from the outer circumference of the focus and start counting the annuli until you come to the furthest most outer. Annuli. Count each annuli as 1 year.

There are some pole crappies that scale counting is not accurate. For example in warm climates such as Florida counting scales will not work because of the accelerated growth rate. In warm climates it is better to read the otoliths bone. This is a extremely accurate way to determine the age of a speckled perch but is much more difficult because the bone must be dissected to determine the age. You may need to use the otoliths bone also when there is a extremely slow growth rate.

We hope the information in this article about Speckled Perch. Have a great day!

What if I told you that coaches do make such mistakes in Kids Soccer Drills that have the potential to destroy a team and make it a loser. And it’s absolutely right. Lot of people must be busy finding out the big reason responsible for a team’s such great downfall. Then let me tell you, there can be numerous causes.

When it comes to soccer drills for kids, you have to be very careful and strategic. You need to understand the psychology of the kids. Exchange words with them discussing things from their point of view. But unfortunately, many coaches are unprepared to adjust to it. They fail to realize that there is a distinction in coaching kids and coaching grown-up players.

So there you have it; top faults of coaches that bring the teams to a point, from where it’s near impossible to get back on to the winning track.

1. Many coaches take their jobs for granted. They don’t arrange the drills, refuse to plan their sessions, and are always late in getting to the field. Such behavior is bad and also has the potential to sadden the kids. You cannot be non-serious when the kids take soccer so seriously. Youth soccer drills should be pre-planned. Arrange for various equipments needed to perform the drills before-hand.

Kids Soccer Drills

Always be prompt. Do not come to the field after kids. In fact, you should be on the track before the kids arrive. What you get here is the additional time to run through the drills or plan out things.

2. When the coaches deliver the instructions before the kids soccer drills, they tend to take a lot of time. Have you ever imagined how torturous that can be! You must realize that players are more interested in playing than hearing. Keep your words of wisdom brief and straight forward. Use this talk to motivate the kids and increase their confidence.

It is extremely vital that the kids are not interrupted while playing. If you have observed anything that needs to be corrected, note it and discuss it after the drill. Also, you should be outside the field when the kids are enjoying the game.

3. Some coaches use foul language with the young players. In soccer drills for youth, both the behaviors are unacceptable. It is bad to display weak behaviour on the soccer field. It is Ok if kids make mistakes. Do not forget that they are children. You should not take it seriously and get offensive with the players.

When this happens, you are making the kids loose interest and also making things difficult for yourself. Soccer is played in the mind more than from the body. Make the kids realize this and you would have motivated them.

Just keep yourself aloof from these problems in kids soccer drills. If you would like information on what you should or shouldn’t do, join our youth soccer coaching community. This will enrich you with a lot of tips and tricks.

With the Winter Olympics going on currently in Vancouver, it brings a greater awareness to some of the sports that we do not get to see televised that often and to get to see a few of these athletes that are often forgotten in non-Olympic years. Some of the best athletes for The American team are two skiers, Lindsay Vonn and Bode Miller and short track speed skater, Apolo Ohno. The thing that sets these three athletes apart from their competition is not only their ability to be on the podium after most of their events they compete in, but is how they do cross training in other sports to improve their overall strength and fitness. For example, Apolo Ohno enjoys mountain biking while Bode Miller spends a day of basketball shooting and basketball training as a training tool.

This article will mention a few of the training methods that these three Olympians do to make them better than their competitors that may only do ski or skate training. It has been proven that athletes that have better overall fitness, will suffer fewer stress induced injuries in addition to have more strength and flexibility that helps them in whatever sport that they are doing.

Lindsay Vonn is the Vancouver Olympics it girl with an unbelievable amount of talent in downhill skiing. Her story became enormous news when she suffered an injury to her shin just weeks before the Olympics and she was uncertain if she could even compete. So far, she is on track to competing and completed 3 of her 5 events winning medals in two of them. She says she is in better shape this season than any other thanks to the hard cross training she has put in. She does a lot of circuit training alternating strength exercises with cardio exercises that works her stamina in addition to her strength.

Bode Miller had a great deal of pressure to bring home the gold at the last Winter Olympics in Italy and did not succeed saying his easygoing training methods were to blame. Since, then he has made it his mission to be in top physical shape and more prepared for this Olympics. He enjoys adding other activities to his training regimen to stay fresh and to constantly challenge his muscles in new ways. He will play basketball one day and then does interval sprinting and core work on other days. With 3 medals so far in Vancouver it seems to be working for Miller.

This is the 3rd Olympic games for short track skater Apolo Ohno and he has just became the most winning skater at the Olympic Games beating Bonnie Blair's record of five Olympic medals. He is more confident than ever having lost 20 pounds in his comeback and to improve his physical state. He enjoys doing outdoor workouts such as sprinting up a steep hill wearing a weighted vest or doing a long cycling ride to challenge his leg muscles the way they need to be for skating.

In today’s economy, many people are trying to find some extra money in their budget. Budgets are being carefully scrutinized by all. No one wants to change the way they have been living over the past few years. Living on a budget is not the most appealing thing that a person has to do. Decisions have to be made, however, and some of the choices are more unpleasant than others.

One place that can be cut to save the budget is the health club membership. The monthly fee for the gym membership is money that we have complete control over whether we spend it or not. Often times, a person’s health club membership is underused and the money that is being spent on it is often not a good value. Joining a health club is not the only way for someone to create a exercise regimen to get healthy. The solution is to stop going to the gym and create your own fitness program in your own home. A person can either invest a lot of money on various exercise equipment to make their house as well equipped as the fitness club, or they can find exercise programs that don’t cost anything.

There are many stores that have a wide range of exercise equipment available for purchase But you don’t have to have every piece of equipment. Spend your cash wisely when buying exercise equipment, if you buy something that doesn’t last than you might be wasting your time and money on it. Something else to think about is where in your house you can set up equipment that you buy and whether the space is large enough to b e able to exercise. Some types of exercise equipment is very big and will not look good sitting in the middle of a person’s living room. One way to save money on a home gym is to find used equipment that someone is selling. There are a lot of people who want to get rid of the things they bought but no longer use, and bargains can be had. A trip to the local bookstore will yield a treasure trove of books or dvd’s that can teach a person how to do the latest fitness routine or teach you how to do six pack ab exercises that will get you into the shape that you desire, or you might even find these things for free at your local library.

Another thing that can be found in libraries and book stores are material that will show you different diet and exercise routines that can teach you how to lose weight fast in the comfort of your home and these things can cost little or no money for a person, all that is required is the effort. If you can’t find the information that is needed in books or videos, go online where you can find sites that are dedicated to helping people to get fit and healthy such as the biggest loser forum which offers hints and tips for a person in addition to chat rooms where you can find the support that is needed.

The amount of weight that a person can lose does not depend on how much cash they put out. If you can find the desire to get fit, than it can be accomplished. You will not be successful at losing weight if you don’t work at even you pour every extra dollar into the best equipment available. It doesn’t matter if you join a fitness club or not, success will always be determined by the amount of effort that is put into it. The money that is spent on the health club may not be as necessary as you think, and could be a good place to trim the fat. You could decide that that monthly expense is not necessary and eliminate it.

With everything Big Sky, Montana is offering snow skiers, it's amazing that so few are aware of its existence! Recognized for its wide open runs and small lift lines, Big Sky Ski Resort offers one of the largest lift served vertical drops in the United states. More than fifty three hundred acres of ski slopes and trails await skiers, with over thirty three feet of snowfall every year.

Big Sky Ski Resort and discover acres of terrain on three immense mountains that provide you with enough variety and expanse that standing in lift lines is an anomaly to Big Sky visitors. Big Sky Lodging options vary from slopeside hotels and Condos to private homes. Two mountains of blissful terrain please everyone from the power wedge to the fast and fearless. The ingredients are simple: massive acreage, the most total vertical feet in the United States, and a lift network including high speed quads that makes most skiers vanish onto nearly-private runs.

This secluded, mid-mountain location provides a one of a kind ski-in/ski-out experience. Enjoy panoramic views from the private hot tub on your deck. Sure, there are other mountain resorts with lots of summer activities, but only Big Sky has Lone Mountain. Millions of acres of national forest and wilderness. During the summer, Grizzly Outfitters specializes in mountain biking, camping, hiking, and climbing. They are Big Sky's largest full-service ski and bike shop, featuring overnight tuning services.

Big Sky Resort continues to make its mark on the mountain vacation industry, along with creating a remarkable memorable experience for winter guests. And one reader sums up the on-mountain food options as "granola in your pocket and water in your Camelbak.".Many deem that an acceptable trade-off for enjoying some of the biggest skiing in North America. Ski-town airports charge high rental rates in wintertime, and your "car" may well be an SUV—great for mountain driving, but a huge gas-guzzler. Instead, rely on airport shuttles.

The two resorts share the same mountain - Lone Peak, which is nearly an hour from Bozeman. At one time, the resorts shared several trails and a lift.

For those who dare, the Lone Peak Tram takes the bold to the apex, with 3,600 acres, 4,350 jaw-dropping vertical feet and expert terrain below. Combined, the two trail networks offer nearly 5,300 acres of skiable terrain and the second-biggest vertical descent in the US, at 4,350'. Between them, the two resorts operate 23 lifts. Coupled with easy access to the slopes and an average annual snowfall of 400 inches, terrain parks and halfpipes, you can see why Big Sky has become one of the top ski resorts in the country and rivals Winter Park ski vacations for the perfect getaway. There is something here for everyone. Big Sky is perfect for everyone from beginners to experts.

A great fish finder can make the difference between a good fishing trip and a great fishing trip. The Eagle fish finder has been making a big splash in the fish finder sonar market because of its compact size and durability. It's the perfect tool for sport fishermen who are serious about getting a great catch every time. If you have often wondered, "How do fish finders work," then read on. In this article, we'll tell you how the Eagle work and how it compares with other fish finders and how it can help you out on the water.

There are a few different varieties of the Eagle fish finder and all are quite simple to use and reasonable. Because of its size and lightweight construction this device can be used on small watercraft including float tubes, kayaks and canoes. The transducer, the working component of the fish locator, is mounted on the vessel utilizing a suction cup. Because of its tough and water-resistant casing, this handy device can be used in both saltwater and freshwater settings. An added benefit of this equipment is the design of the screen. It's bright and clear - even in full daylight. The Eagle ranges in price from approximately $100-$500 and includes a one year manufacturers warranty.

Like the Garmin fishfinders, the Humminbird fishfinders and the Lowrance fishfinders, the Eagle fish finder depends on the transducer for its effectiveness. The transducer emits the sonar signal that detects fish, weeds and underwater structures beneath your boat. The signal bounces back to the boat and is read on the screen. With its 20 degree cone angle transducer mounting, the Eagle offers up to 60 degrees of fish detection and also has a high sensitivity setting to allow you to locate more fish.

Among the Eagle's best selling features is user-friendliness. After you have found a potential fishing site, switch on your fish finder. The equipment will display the deepness and water temperature to about 600 feet in the screen's corner. The sonar chart will scroll and display everything directly below the craft as you float or troll for schools of fish. By utilizing the menu choices you can tweak the sensitivity of the apparatus. The fish will be displayed as a straight line whenever you're at a stop.

As good as the Eagle fish finder is, no device is foolproof. To get the most out of your fish locator, you must determine which frequency to use. One rule of thumb is to use the 83 kHz option in very deep saltwater and the 200 kHz option in shallow water up to about 300 feet. The 200 kHz frequency gives better detail and definition, but its depth penetration isn't as good. The sonar can be fooled, so watch for false readings if you use the fish display option–often called Fish ID–instead of the actual fish echoes. Fish ID displays symbols on the screen. For example, a small fish symbol will appear when the device "thinks" the target is a small fish, a medium icon when it "thinks" it has hit a medium fish etc. In spite of this, the Eagle is still a great device that will definitely improve your game.

Need help deciding on the right fish finder? From the Eagle FishEasy 350C color compact fishfinder to the Lowrance HDS-10, there are fish finder reviews to make the choice easier for you.
