Several years ago I was involved in an accident on the water that has plagued me for years. This is partially my fault, but it would not have been nearly as bad if the boating accident lawyers had not become involved. While the accident probably could have been prevented and I truly do feel sorry for the harm I caused, because of the boating accident lawyers I have been forced to sell my house and I now am looking for a new job. If I had known the law and what could happen I for sure would have gotten some boating accident lawyers on my side.
What the Boating Accident Lawyers Did To Take Away My Home
At the time of the accident it was just before dusk and I had difficulty seeing out on the water. I am sure that the driver of the other boat had the same conditions, although their boating accident lawyers pretty much said that this was not a factor. In any event, the boats ended up colliding and one of the passengers on the other boat was seriously injured. She was not in any danger of dying and I do not think she even spent any time in the hospital, but the way those boating accident lawyers spun it you would have thought I killed an entire elementary school.
Anyway, what the found out was that I had been drinking while out on the boat. Now my blood alcohol level was nowhere near what you would call over the limit, but that did not really matter in the civil case. They basically me painted as wonton drunk who was driving completely out of control. This was not the actual case, but without any legal help I was powerless to defend myself.
In addition, I did not have a boating license and therefore legally should not have even been driving. Pay no mind to the fact that I had owned a boat for over 20 years and spent countless hours on the water and had more experience in my little finger then their teenage driver had in his entire body, all of that is irrelevant.
So what is my point in all this? If you get into an accident on the water talk to some boating accident lawyers before you do anything. They are the most important people to have on your side if something happens. If you do not, you could very easily end up like me: homeless, without a boat, bitter and miserable.
