Practice is a very important part of any sport you decide you would like to get better and more proficient at. But to practice efficiently you need to have a set routine of guidelines and rules to stick to. For example if you wanted to you’re your golf handicap, there a certain rules and guidelines of golf you would have follow to improve and they would have to become part of your golf routine. Practice is also a very important part of learning to catch more crappie and there are a set of rules you and guidelines you are going to need to develop and make them part of your crappie fishing routine. Please read on because I have a few guidelines and rules you can use in your crappie routine, that will help you catch more crappie.
#1 rule If you have ever excelled at anything you know that you have to take a “never give up attitude” to succeed. Fishing is no different. There will good and bad days just like any other new thing you try. The key is to learn from your mistakes and put them to good use. Mistakes are not always a bad thing because they teach you “what not to do”. Just remember that to become a better crappie angler and catch more crappies takes time and practice. But if you document all your failures and successes you will soon develop some good rules and guidelines.
#2 rule Documentation is very important if you want to improve as a fisherman. You need to log your crappie fishing trips. You cannot define your guidelines and rules if you don’t log your successes and failures. You should log every detail of your trip such as , water clarity, what baits you used, how deep you fished, detail GPS information of where you fished, and of course date and time.
#3 rule It is very important that you do some research and learn how to fish for crappie with live bait. There will be times that just using crappie jigs won’t cut it. Many professionals use a combination of crappie live bait and artificial baits when fishing for crappie. If the fish are not hitting on your main crappie jigs you may need to switch to live bait or a combination of live and artificial baits. You need to concentrate your research around your local area that you fish most of the time. In any location you need to use crappie live baits that are a natural food source for the local crappie population.
