META: Mosquitoes are pests that are not only irritating but can be harmful to your health as they carry such diseases like Malaria. To get rid of these blood-sucking insects we use various kinds of repellents and the electronic mosquito repellent is one of them.
Planning a barbecue, hiking trip or just a party outdoors can be great fun, but mosquitoes can be a nuisance and ruin everything if you are not careful. The electronic mosquito repellent releases a solution in the form of vapour into the air within a certain radius and this forms a protection shield in that area which mosquitoes cannot penetrate because they cannot stand the smell of the repellent. Compared to the strong-smelling repellents that you can spray on your skin, these are a more suitable opiton. Those ones anyway, only last for a few hours whilst the electronic repellents that plug into the power source will last as long as they stay plugged in.
Another kind of electronic mosquito repellent is one that emits ultrasonic sound waves that are bearable to the human ear but are found repulsive by mosquitoes. When you are camping outdoors you can either set them on the table or wear them around your wrist. It is believed that the sound emitted from this repellent is similar to the flapping of a male mosquito’s wings and this sound is repelling to the female mosquito, who scientifically mates only once in her lifetime and therefore keeps far away from the sound. This kind of repellent should not b e relied on for protection however, as it is reported it is not ver effective.
It would be very wise to buy a mosquito repellent that provides maximum protection and safety against these creatures. This is really essential. Other repellents have to either be sprayed or rubbed onto the body and can be harsh to the skin, where as the electronic mosquito repellent is sprayed into the air. This comes really close to being the best. Due to the fact it works silently in the background, the electronic mosquito repellent will definitely keep them away. However, one such repellent may not be enough for a very large area because the fumes that it releases works only within a few meters radius.
