Preparing for an exploration journey with your family is what you might do each year. When you are planning for a night in the exciting outdoors, you need to consider everything you might need while you are away. You should put all your Backpacking gear and Outdoor camping supplies, the second one of the two which should include insect repellents. However, when you reach the campsite, you can’t help but wonder what else you should do to keep these troublesome insects away. No matter which insect repellents you purchase, those insects figure out a way to arrive at the campsite and ruin your whole your trip. Before you get even more agitated, here’s a key. What you can do is swing a plastic bag filled with water around your camp area, and it’s that easy to keep them away!

The major science behind the crawlers going away is refraction. Refraction is the bending of light when it travels from one medium to the other (air and water in this case). The refraction of light causes bugs to have more than one vision which creates confusion for the bugs and ultimately, they experience multiple directions at once. For this occurrence, light is necessary. When you are at a campsite at night, a light bulb can aid this phenomenon. Other than that, the campfire might also be a great light source.

In order to make such an insect repellent, there are a few measures to follow:

• Initially take a plastic bag and fill it with water. Ensure that this bag is capable of holding the pressure of the water when it is hung. The water is the medium that will make the high optic flow for the insects. High optic flow sites are the danger areas for ticks as this elevates their likelihood to collide. Thus, they will keep away.

• To add more reflection in your plastic bag, include some coins. Ensure that they are shiny. The shinier they are the more light they will reflect and the more will the optic flow be. Thus, insects will have a tough time. You may even like to add more than one coin. However, do not add too much of them that the plastic bag becomes incapable to keep them.

• Now seal the bag and tie it with a bit of cord that is a few feet in length. Ensure that this cord is strong enough to hold the water filled plastic bag when it is hung.

• Hang the bag around the area where ticks are troubling you. The existence of light in this area is the solution. Along with that, if there is breeze around the area, you can rest assured that things will move according to how you will like them. This is because wind will make the bag swing in air, thereby increasing the diameter of the danger zone.

• Lastly, what you can do is check the consequences. Take a sneak peek at the population of the crawlers and find out whether your repellent has affected them. If you have been successful, hanging more than one water bag is also going to assist.
